

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Bonnyville Rehabilitation Centre. We have every wish that this major step you have taken towards a clean and sober life will take you to new roads of personal achievements and peace of mind and contentment. In order to make this four week comprehensive program work to your benefit you are expected to maintain a sincere and honest part in the whole program. Because your activity is an essential and required part of the treatment program.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Should you decide to drink, take any type of intoxicating drug, are in possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia while taking the program, you will be terminated immediately from the program.
Anyone (client or visitor) under the influence of drugs or an intoxicant and/or with the odor of alcohol on their breath will not be admitted into the facility.
You are expected to cooperate with Night Attendants and to treat them with respect. They are given the responsibility to ensure that the rules and regulations are followed and adhered to accordingly. Termination from the program can result due to lack of cooperation. Loitering around the Night Attendants desk is not allowed. You are not permitted to put any personal items in or on the Desk.
Verbal, emotional or physical abuse, harassment, causing bad feelings, slander, lying and unfounded accusations against the staff or to other clients will not be tolerated. If your verbal or physical behaviour is controlling, complaining, angry or insulting, the atmosphere in our facility deteriorates. If your negative behaviour continues, it will result in your discharge. Physical violence will result in both people involved being immediately terminated.
If you are suspected of using alcohol or drugs while in treatment, drug testing will be done. If the test is positive or you refuse to be tested, you will be terminated immediately.
Clients are not allowed to be in any Bars, Lounges or Liquor Stores while taking the 28 day treatment program or you will be terminated.
No intimate relationships. You will be terminated, please note that Day or Night staff has the authority to terminate clients at their discretion. When going for a walk there must be more than two people to ensure no relationships.
Boundaries for Walks
No blankets, pillows anywhere except in Bedrooms.
Men are not allowed in women’s rooms and vice versa also clients are not allowed to go into each others rooms unless invited. No children or visitors in either side.
NO SPITS (Sunflower seeds) and NO HAIR DYE are allowed in the Centre.
When using our EXERCISE equipment, or any sports equipment (eg: balls, gloves, bats etc.) You MUST sign them out and are responsible to put them back when you are finished with them.
The Rehab Centre is a NON-SMOKING Building. Please smoke outside at designated areas. At all times use ashtrays or containers. Do not leave butts on the Rehab Centre’s grounds. No chewing tobacco or snuff will be used in the building.
Bed time at 11:00 p.m. during the week except on Friday and Saturday(1:30a.m.)
A list of chores will be posted each Saturday, everyone MUST do their assigned chores.
All outside doors will be locked at 4:30 p.m. The CAGE for the Hallway will be locked every night at 10:30 P.M. and will be unlocked at 8:00 A.M.
No sunglasses inside the Centre. No exceptions unless you are given permission by your counsellor.
After completing two full weeks of treatment you may be given a pass. Clients on a T.A. must have approval from P.O., the Counsellors cannot grant you a pass.
Once a Weekend or Day pass is issued, when you return your pass ends. Day passes are recorded. Passes start at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Failure to return by 11 p.m. from a pass will be considered self-termination.
If you are leaving the Centre for any reason including weekend and day passes you must sign the check out book by the Night Attendants desk and also inform the staff. Before leaving the Centre, it has to be approved by your Counsellor. Unauthorized leave will result in termination.
No going out during week, (shopping, bingo’s, etc.) The staff is not responsible for picking up the clients in town if they are on a weekend pass or day pass.
The Centre is not responsible to pay for transportation for clients who are coming in or leaving the Centre.
Make your bed and clean your rooms and sitting rooms. A daily inspection will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. each day. Any rooms that are not satisfactorily cleaned will be reported to the counselling staff, the client responsible will be asked to clean his or her room. Please follow the housekeeping rules posted in your room.
The Centre is not responsible for clothes and other belongings left here after two weeks. The Centre is not responsible for lost or damaged personal articles. It is your responsibility to safe guard your money/valuables, the staff will secure them at your request.
Shoes or socks will be worn at all times while in the dining room. Only non-marking soled shoes to be worn in the gym. Clothing promoting drugs, alcohol or bandanas (gang colours) will not be worn in the Centre. Footwear must be worn in Kitchen. Sexually revealing clothing will not be worn Ie: short shorts, Halter tops, No excessive cleavage or bare stomachs.
Pyjama’s/sleepware is not to be worn until 11 p.m., staff have the discretion to determine what is appropriate.
Undergarments must be worn.
Swimming suits will only be worn at the beach.
Gowns may be worn at the Sweat Lodge.
Food and beverages are ONLY allowed in Dining area. Absolutely no littering on the Centre’s grounds. No defacing Centre property what so ever. (Eg: Writing on walls, damaging property etc.) Could result in loss of pass privileges or termination.
All offices are out of bounds to all clients, unless seeing a counsellor. Counsellors are not available until after 9:00 a.m.
Administration area is out of bounds to all clients unless requested. All administrative request must be approved by your counsellor (i.e. faxing, typing etc.).
Visiting hours:
Visiting will take place in the Foyer area and the dining area, visiting is restricted from the men’s and women’s wings. Please supervise your children or ask your visitor’s to supervise their children while they are visiting, especially if they stay for the 8 p.m. Meetings. You are responsible for your children. Clean up after them.
LAUNDRY: All clients will do their own laundry 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
All pills and medication must be turned in upon admission. They will be dispensed as prescribed by your doctor and any left over will be returned to you on your discharge from the Centre. Staff do not have authority to increase or decrease prescribed dosages of any medication. Clients choosing to discontinue a prescribed mediation will do so in writing and should a medical problem occur due to this decision may result in termination.
Body Building supplements and Power Drinks are not to be used during treatment.
All Clients must be up at 7:00 a.m. and no sleeping until after 4:30 p.m.
MEAL TIMES ARE:
No tampering with the fire alarm system. Fire exit doors are to be used only for emergency purposes, they must be kept closed at all times.
When session is called you are to be on time, if you are late you may get a demerit.
Doctor or Dental appointments will be made on an "emergency basis only". You are here for treatment, if you are unable to participate fully in the program due to medical reasons it may result in termination or re-schedule when fit. You MUST have a Medical completed before Treatment.
Messages will be taken for the client at all times and will be left at the Secretary desk or Night Attendant desk. You must ask your counsellor before using any in house phones. Pay phones must be used to return your personal calls after 5 p.m. weekdays.
NOTE: There is a limit of only ONE 10 minute call PER WEEK.
CELL PHONES and VEHICLE KEYS must be turned in on admission, returned when discharged from treatment or weekend passes.
We are not a referral Centre. All arrangements for further treatment is the responsibility of the client, see Senior Counselor for Additional Referral Information.
Use of any products with alcohol, hairspray, perfumes, cologne, mouthwash, aerosols or solvents is not permitted during Treatment.
The T.V. room is not open for clients until after all supper chores are completed.Absolutely NO purchasing of Pay Per View Movies or Pornography. No loud music in rooms. Stereo’s Radio’s, Walkmans, CD Players and Ipods are not permitted out of your bedrooms.
If you are caught stealing or are in possession of stolen goods you will be charged and terminated from the program.
Lack of cooperation to these rules and regulations can either result in a demerit, loss of pass privileges or termination from the Centre. We operate on a three demerit system, after three you will be terminated so someone else can come in to treatment.
